| Great Lakes Free Ferry Service resumes! |
|
Now announcing the rebirth of the FCB Free Ferry! Right now, a small fleet (4
for now) of boats have been placed around Sosaria and Tokuno for the express
purpose of public use. Whether it be for fishing, skill gain, or just cruising
the waters of our fair lands, we have a boat for you. Boats can currently be
found in their homeports of New Haven, Hakoto-Jima (in front of Sea Nymph's
Seaside Shop), Nujel'm, and Serpents Hold. More locations will be added in the
near future once we find out if the service will be used.
Inside the
hold is a book, feel free to leave your ferryman a message, as he/she will be
checking them when they refresh the boat and drive it back to port.
*disclaimer* FCB is not responsible for people getting lost or killed
while on our ships. Use them at your own risk. But face it, it's Trammel, what's
the worst that could happen? *end disclaimer* Thanks to FCB Crewmate Katrina for
setting up this service!

| Great Lakes Boat Race a Success! |
|
EM Malachi did a fine job of hosting an excellent event.
Fish King did the steering (after Gem's disastrous start), Katrina was our eagle-eyed lookout, Aridas handled the book (more on that later), and Gem took a swim....Poor FK had three women telling him where to go! Ouch!
We had to visit many spots, including Bucc's den (and the smuggler caves below), Serpent's Hold (where we had to kill a fire steed), New haven (picking up peppercorn steaks), Nujel'm (feeding Tim in debtor's prison), a quick visit to Dagger Island, and the finish line at Moonglow.
Although we came in second (out of...ummm..two...) we had a fine time. EM Malachi says these may become regular events and we say "Bring them on! We shall win next time!"

It's Another FCB Net Toss!
Also known as a Sea Serpent Slaughter, this is a free public event at the Buccaneer's Den docks in Trammel. It will be held
Sunday Dec. 21 at 9:00 p.m. EST.
The fishers of the FCB donate hundreds of nets, and we toss them off then end of the dock. Much murder and mayhem ensures!
Rezzing is available at the end of the dock (you'll need it!).
To make it more fun, we ask that you do NOT use pets, summoned creatures, or provocation.

GREAT NEWS FOR FISHERS
From Jeremy--FoF Question
I'm a fisherman - why would I want to turn in SoSes and MiBs instead of using them?"
Actually, you probably won't. With the next revision of the turn-ins
(next week) pre-chest loot will be worth 250 points apiece, and the
chest might contain a Fishing Net which is worth more points. Also, the
Ghost Anchor and the Seahorse will be worth 25,000 points as well!

 Sunday! Sunday! Sunday!
Captain Gem and her merry band of fisherfolk will be hosting another of their famous free net toss events on Sunday June 1 at 8:00 p.m. CST/9:00 p.m. EST at the Buccaneer's Den docks. Gates will be provided from the West Britain bank.
FCB crewmate Amari explains: "FCB tosses fishing nets into the sea, and the monsters ensue. The public is free to kill all they wish and enjoy the loot. We provide free rezzes at the end of the dock (many will need it)."
Sherrif Lord Balthazar reminds the public that we ask that NO pets or Summoned creatures be used as it reduces the fun for the populace.
Lady Lisolette grinned "The whole crew is looking forward to the mayhem. Maybe the citizens will appreciate how tough we fisherfolk must be to survive the perils of the sea!"

| Curly is Losing His House Again |
|
Once again, FCB Great Lakes Captain Gem has decided that resident Bad Boy Curly must be punished. Curly has been harassing other crew, especially poor (and lovely) FiFi LaForge. Several members have reported various acts of insuborination and mutiny on Curly's part.
Gem announced "We had to do this once before and Curly started sailing straight for awhile. Sadly, I have decided that we must punish Curly once more. Therefore, this coming Sunday night, we will gather at his house beginning at 9:00 p.m. CST and we will drop his house. All of his furnishings, rare items, and gold will fall to the ground to be lototed by members of the public. We will have gates from the Britain Main bank. His house is east of Minoc, just after you cross the bridge on the road its south along the water."
When asked why Curly has been allowed to remain in the Fishing Council of Britannia, Gem shrugged and began muttering something about a promise she had made long ago to Curly's father after an incident with a kraken.

| Sunday Slaughter on Great Lakes |
|
 Sea Serpent Slaughter
Fleet Captain Gem of the Fishing Council of Britannia (FCB) assembled her motley (and mottled) crew.
“It is long past time for us to hold another of our famous net tosses. ‘Tis time for some madness and mayhem.” Well-known scalawag Curly perked up at the mention of mayhem…
Tucker said “Great Cap’n, but they may not all know what happens at a net toss.”
Balthazar replied “We will just need to explain that we toss many nets to deep sea from the docks and the sea monsters attack. We let the public keep the loot.”
Gem smiled, “Well then all they need do is come to the Buccaneers Den Trinsic docks at 8:00 p.m. Central Skies (9 EST) on Sunday January 6 and they will see.” Fish King said, “Remind them, no pets or summoned beings or barding, as it reduces the death and fun..”
Amari jumped up “Remind them there will be free resses at the end of the dock—because surely they will be in need of it.”
Gau added “The landlubbers will see for themselves why sea-farers are so tough.”
